New Research Assistant Joins WDB Team

The Workforce Development Board (WDB) welcomes Adorah Mullens to the team on Monday, June 3rd for eight weeks under the Canada Summer Jobs program. Adorah will be taking on the role of Research Assistant.

“We are looking forward to Adorah joining the team this summer,” said CEO Jennifer Lamantia. “The employer engagement and research she will be conducting to support our projects will be a good fit with her studies at Trent University.”

In her role as Research Assistant, Adorah will be responsible for connecting with employers and community partners to inform our Local Labour Market Planning report.  She will also be working closely with WDB’s Business Support and Project Coordinator to develop a Tools to Support Mental Health in the Workplace Toolkit.

I’m excited to join the WDB team and to put my theoretical knowledge to use.” said Adorah Mullens. 

Adorah is working on completing a Bachelor of Business Administration, with a Specialization in Human Resources and a Minor in Legal Studies at Trent University where she will be entering her final year in September. She is also the Secretary and Co-Founder of the HR Club at Trent University. In addition to her university studies, Adorah is an avid soccer player and since 2019 has been a coach for Special Olympics where she works with a range of athletes and is committed to supporting their success both on and off the field. 

Adorah’s studies in human resources along with her summer work experience at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, and Community Living Greater Sudbury combined with her strong communication and organizational skills will be beneficial for the project work she will be engaged in at WDB.
