Ten Thousand Villages Cobourg is a not-for-profit, Fair Trade retail store committed to the practices of fair trade that empower artisans, their families and communities in developing countries. We are currently searching for an:
ASSISTANT MANAGER - FLOOR OPERATIONS
Job Description:
Reporting to the General Manager, this position will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient day to day operations of the store including the motivation and supervision of a volunteer staff.
Required Skills:
• Knowledge of and interest in the concept of Fair Trade and Social Justice
• Experience in a retail setting and/or volunteer organization
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Experience in motivating and supervising volunteers ideal
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
• Fluency in English
Terms:
• 20 Hours per week
• Schedule to be negotiated
• Some weekends required
• $22.20/hr with regular cost of living and living wage increases
