Hours: 42 hours per week - 12 hour continental shifts

Description:
Kawartha Ethanol Inc. is a leading producer of premium alcohol products, fuel-grade ethanol and essential co-products. Our site is a state-of-the-art ethanol production facility that operates 24-hour, 365 day/yr.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain, install, repair and set up of process control equipment (ie. controllers, transmitters, final control elements).
- Maintain, repair and calibrate instruments as required, or oversee such tasks.
- Maintain proficiency in prescribed TSSA, ESA Procedures, codes and standards
- Interpret electrical schematics and process flow diagrams involving blueprints, PLC or DCS systems
- Diagnose complex process problems, determine best resolve and execute safe repair.
- Liaise with operation staff and other plant personnel to support safe and efficient operations.
- Liaise with personnel from various external technical support to solve issues in the plant
- Prepare elementary drawings/schematics, electrical assembly drawings, single line diagrams, equipment specifications, technical documents in compliance with applicable codes & standards.

Qualifications:
- Control Systems Technologist, Instrument Technologist, Engineering education or equivalent electrical controls education, would be considered an asset
- Minimum 5-10 years’ field experience in an industrial environment
- Mechanically inclined, excelling at use of tools to accomplish hands-on field work, including machine wiring, mounting of components, panel changes/retrofits, running of cables, etc.
- Outstanding written and verbal communications skills, and the ability to speak to and address customer needs
- A proven record of controls experience and an aptitude for learning
- A strong programming knowledge base in Siemens and Allen Bradley (knowledge of other platforms will be considered a valuable asset)
- Excellent working knowledge of the Ontario and Canadian Electrical Code
- Comfortable with leading and facilitating support members, as required.
