Workforce Development Board (WDB) is pleased to announce that Anca Pascalau will join the team as Business Support and Project Coordinator on Wednesday, October 29th.
Anca will be actively involved in supporting WDB’s business operations in addition to fostering and maintaining relationships with community stakeholders. She will also be responsible for project coordination which involves the development, implementation, and delivery of project activities. In addition to working closely with WDB’s CEO, Anca will work in collaboration with WDB’s external team of consultants including their social media marketer to promote project activities and WDB’s resources.
“Anca has over twenty years of experience in nonprofit and public-sector program coordination, project management, communications, and stakeholder engagement,” said CEO Jennifer Lamantia. “We are very excited to have her join our team to apply her skills to the work we do researching the conditions of the local labour market and delivering projects and resources that meet local labour market needs.”

For over eleven years, Anca led Sustainable Peterborough, a nonprofit initiative jointly funded and overseen by the City and the County of Peterborough, and hosted by Peterborough & the Kawarthas Economic Development where she coordinated several committees and over ten projects from planning and budgeting to implementation, evaluation and reporting. She was the key liaison for over three hundred community partners and redesigned and managed three websites and an online database.
Prior to Sustainable Peterborough, Anca was a Project Coordinator at the City of Peterborough where she developed and managed the City of Peterborough’s Immigration Portal website. In this role, she was also involved in engaging local immigrants, refugees and international students through focus groups and online surveys.
Anca holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from York University and a Human Resources Management Certificate from Seneca College.

Founded in 1996, WDB is funded by the Ontario Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development to provide labour market information, coordinate employment and training services, and engage employer communities.
